“It’s not that there’s anything wrong with debate. In fact, debate, in certain circumstances, can be good, but we can often solve the problems…through conversation.”
On January 10th, Merion West contributing editor Vahaken Mouradian was joined by philosopher and author Peter Boghossian for a wide-ranging discussion on the purpose of education following Dr. Boghossian’s departure from Portland State University in September of last year. During their conversation, Mr. Mouradian and Dr. Boghossian discuss the proper role of education in society, what has been so acutely ailing the academy in recent years, and the potential for new projects in tertiary education such as the University of Austin potentially to disrupt the current state of things.
